Kids of Steel:
I am parent and/or legal guardian of the child named below. I realize that his or her participation in the Kids of STEEL program will involve activity that is physically strenuous and may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. I understand that all physical activities involve some risks to the participants. After consideration of the risks involved, I nevertheless wish my child to participate in Kids of STEEL program and hereby agree to assume all risk of any injury and disease received or suffered during the course of or as a result of his or her participation in the Kids of STEEL program.

I hereby release any claims and losses I or my child may have now or in the future for injuries or disease sustained as a result of the Kids of STEEL program, including death, and hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless the Dicks Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, its directors and officers, employees, agents, volunteers, suppliers, contractors, sponsors, the State of Pennsylvania, City of Pittsburgh, County of Allegheny, and all other persons or entities connected in any way with the Kids of STEEL program from any and all claims, demands, liability, expenses and compensation, including attorney’s fees, that may arise out of, or result from or in any way be related to, directly or indirectly, from my child's participation in the Kids of STEEL program.

I agree that my child’s photographic or other image and name may appear in any Kids of STEEL program-related materials and/or advertisements and I agree that Kids of STEEL may use my child’s photographic or other image and name without compensation. I have read, understand and agree to all the terms of this document.

Publicity Release: I hereby grant permission to Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. and its sponsors to use for all legitimate purposes, any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record in any form, in which an image or record of me or my voice may be included, which image or record was taken or recorded before, during or after, or is otherwise associated with, the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon, FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay, UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K Run, Toyota of Pittsburgh Kids Marathon, the GNC Live Well Health and Fitness Expo, Toddler Trot, GNC Live Well Liberty Mile, EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler and/or any of the related events.

Liability and Publicity Release: I know that running a road race is potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able to do so and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, and course conditions, and waive any and all claims which I might have based on any of those and other risks typical in running a road race. I acknowledge all such risks are known and understood by me. I am aware that medical support for this event will be provided by volunteer personnel who may be called upon to provide assistance, including first aid, to me and others during the event. I authorize any such volunteer to assist me and/or to provide such assistance as, in the opinion of such person, may be necessary or appropriate. I understand that neither the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. nor any of its supporting sponsors, including, without limitation, Dicks Sporting Goods, Inc and all sponsors, assume any responsibility or liability with respect to my participation in this event. I agree, however, to abide by all decisions of any race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I hereby grant permission to the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc., the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, USA Track and Field (USATF), and all sponsors, representatives (including volunteers), and employees of any or all of them, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. Athletes who participate in this competition may be subject to formal drug testing in accordance with USA Track and Field rules and IIAF rule 144. Athletes testing positive for banned substances and/or who refuse testing, will be disqualified from this event and will lose eligibility for future events.
