Resources for Coaches

As part of our mission to enhance community access to health and fitness education and activities, P3R actively seeks out opportunities to give back to our community. Our partners in these endeavors share the same commitment to making Pittsburgh a healthy community.

Mini Grants for Kids of Steel Teams

Funding for local communities

Because of our generous sponsors, we are able to award mini grants to schools or sites with Kids of Steel teams. To learn more, please contact Leslie Turis, Director of Youth Programming at leslie.turis@p3r.org.
  • Grants of up to $1000 to start or enhance a middle school run club!
  • Transportation grants are back! If you need help getting your team to race day, please apply for funding here.
  • PE Grants for elementary school teams will also be awarded to help coaches or teachers try something that they always wanted to in order to inspire their schools or community to fall in love with fitness. We will promote the work that our coaches do as a result of this funding so that others can get inspired!

Testimonial

I wanted to say thank you in return for introducing me to such a great program like Kids of STEEL!  I truly believe this is a wonderful, well operated, and effective program for children to learn the benefits and ways of a healthy lifestyle. I applaud everyone who has worked so hard to make a difference in so many children's lives. I am honored to work with you and hope to work with you in the future. ~ Clara Santucci, two-time Pittsburgh Marathon female marathon champion
